Dong Hyun Kim got on his grind and completely controlled Siyar Bahadurzada en route to a dominant unanimous decision victory at UFC on FUEL TV 8 tonight (March 2, 2013) in Japan.
The UFC on FUEL TV 8: "Silva vs. Stann" main card kicked off tonight (Sat., March 2, 2013) in Saitama, Japan, with a welterweight battle pitting the now healthy and hard-nosed Dong Hyun Kim taking on the rising Siyar Bahadurzada.
Kim's 2-2 record in his last four fights is deceptive, as injuries slowed him down. Then again, Bahadurzada came in riding a seven fight win streak and looking to catapult himself to the contender line at 170-pounds.
It didn't happen.
Kim did what he always does, using his positional control and superior grappling to completely stifle every bit of "The Great's" offense while scoring points with guard passes and pestering ground-n-pound.
It went this way in all three rounds, much more the second and third than the first.
It wasn't aesthetically pleasing by any stretch of the imagination but the strategy was effective in getting "Stun Gun" another victory on his path back to the top of the welterweight division.
When the judges scorecards were read, they came in 30-27 across the board, all in favor of Kim.
