With the experience of having fought both Georges St. Pierre and Nick Diaz, former interim UFC champ Carlos Condit weighs in on who he believes will walk out of the UFC 158 main event as the welterweight champion.
"I think that Georges [St. Pierre] has the tools and the athleticism to beat Nick [Diaz]. I'm not counting Nick out, though. He's a tough fighter. He can put guys in back positions and you never know, but I would put my money on GSP retaining the title."
-- Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit shares some quick thoughts with MMA Interviews on the UFC 158 main event between Georges St. Pierre and Nick Diaz, scheduled to take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on March 16, 2013. "The Natural Born Killer" knows St. Pierre and Diaz as well as anyone, as he was the last opponent to both men -- losing to "Rush" at UFC 154 and defeating Diaz at UFC 143. Condit, like most, believes the French-Canadian is going to hang on to the strap at UFC 158, but isn't making the mistake of completely counting out Diaz as the Stockton native has proved before he is capable of pulling off the upset in any fight. It's very possible Condit could be facing the winner of St. Pierre vs. Diaz, depending on the outcome of his fight against Johny Hendricks, which serves as the co-main event to the St. Pierre-Diaz bout at UFC 158.
