With his decision win over Nick Diaz in main event of UFC 158: "St. Pierre vs. Diaz" at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight king Georges St. Pierre officially solidified himself as the greatest 170-pound fighter to ever step foot inside the Octagon.

As if there was any doubt regarding his status in history, "Rush" officially took sole possession of No. 1 spot for most total welterweight title defenses in UFC history at eight and is now tied with UFC Hall-of-Fame inductee Matt Hughes for the most wins in the history of the company with 18.

Those are just a few of the milestone achievements St. Pierre has accomplished over the course of his 20-fight UFC career and at only 31 years of age, the French-Canadian still has plenty more time to add to his already tremendous resume.

While St. Pierre should be and certainly is proud of what he has done in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career thus far; from a personal standpoint, he is probably just happy to put the highly dramatic Diaz saga of his career behind him and move forward onto the next major challenge.

That challenge comes in form of top welterweight contender Johny Hendricks, who once again made his claim at the No. 1 contenders position in the weight class with a decision victory over Carlos Condit in the UFC 158 co-main event.

Hendricks has been campaigning for a title shot for months now, and with consecutive victories over a murderer's row of Jon Fitch, Josh Koscheck, Martin Kampmann and Condit; "Bigg Rigg" can no longer be denied and the time for him to fight for the belt has finally come.

Fortunately for the UFC, it seems both St. Pierre and Hendricks came out of their respective bouts free of major injuries, and considering the fact they fought on the same card just a few minutes apart from each other, it's safe to say the timing will line up for whenever the UFC wants to put this title bout together. St. Pierre has fought twice in the past four months, which is an uncharacteristically active schedule for him, which explains why he said he wants some time off after an emotionally and physically draining fight with Diaz.

Talks of a St. Pierre vs. Anderson Silva superfight have once again begun to brew following St. Pierre's win over Diaz, but with "The Spider" scheduled to fight Chris Weidman at UFC 162 this summer, it's safe to say the dream match up isn't going to happen anytime soon, if at all.

Moreover, it would be absolutely criminal if Hendricks were once again robbed of his opportunity to fight for the title. Luckily for him, that's not likely to happen.
