Watch the highlights of Jake Ellenberger knocking out Nate Marquardt in the first round of their welterweight tussle at UFC 158 last night (March 16, 2013) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Jake Ellenberger knocks out Nate Marquardt in the very first round of their welterweight showdown on the pay-per-view (PPV) main card of the UFC 158: "St. Pierre vs. Diaz" event last night (Sat., March 16, 2013) at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
"The Juggernaut" not only spoiled "The Great's" return to the Octagon, he made a strong case for himself as the next number one contender to Georges St. Pierre's 170-pound title. Thanks to UFC President Dana White revealing Johny Hendricks is now unquestionably the next guy in line, Ellenberger is going to have to take another bout in the meantime but it's clear that technical knockout loss to Martin Kampmann is now a fading memory in his rearview mirror.
That happens when you impress this much.
For his part, Ellenberger is at least trying to set up a fight with Hendricks before "Big Rig" gets his shot at "GSP" but don't expect it to happen. Can't fault the fella for trying, though.
