The UFC handed out its usual three bonus awards to fighters coming out of the UFC 158: "St. Pierre vs. Diaz" event last night (Sat., March 16, 2013) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and all four were more than deserving.
UFC 158: "St. Pierre vs. Diaz" from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
To the tune of $50,000 each.
The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to three out of the 24 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's headed home with a second sack of simoleons.
Actually, it couldn't be more obvious. There were no submissions on the card, so no one took home any extra moolah for tapping anyone out but Jake Ellenberger banked his extra cash by obliterating Nate Marquardt's head in their welterweight clash on the main card on pay-per-view.
Not long after, Johny Hendricks and Carlos Condit went to war in a bout that has to be the new frontrunner for "Fight of the Year," let along "Fight of the Night." At least the latter pays better.
Here are the special fight bonuses for UFC 158:
Submission of the Night -- XX
Knockout of the Night -- Jake Ellenberger
Fight of the Night -- Johny Hendricks vs. Carlos Condit
Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.
