While Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and current light heavyweight No. 1 contender Chael Sonnen are two of the best mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters to currently walk the planet, both men currently have a second job as fight analysts for FUEL TV.
Cruz and Sonnen provide insight and an expert opinion to the FUEL TV audience regarding anything and everything in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA).
With UFC 158: "St. Pierre vs. Diaz" going down tonight (March 16, 2013) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the two fighters were required to give their official predictions for the two leading welterweight bouts on the card during Friday's (March 15, 2013) UFC 158 weigh-in show on FUEL TV.
Here's what they had to say:
Carlos Condit vs. Johny Hendricks:
Cruz: "I got to go with Carlos Condit because he's got more ways to win. He can win standing cause he's tactical and he can also get up off his back even if Hendricks takes him down. GSP can't hold a guy like Condit down, neither is Hendricks."
Sonnen: "I like Johny Hendricks. I also think we're going to see a different Johny Hendricks. I think if could have either one of their skills, you would rather have Carlos. He knows far more about this sport than Johny does, but Johny's persistent, he's determined and for 15 minutes he's going to beat him.
Georges St. Pierre vs. Nick Diaz:
Cruz: "I got to say my favorite part is Diaz's mentality, but I'm going to go with GSP. I think GSP's just got more ways to win. Again, he can take him down or he can win standing too.
Sonnen: "I'm going to take GSP and I think it's because Diaz has historically - he always believes he can win a fight from the bottom. He'll yell at the judges, he'll talk about it in interviews, ‘Why aren't they rewarding my jiu-jitsu?' You can't. If Georges lays on you, he wins."
