Watch the complete first episode of the UFC Primetime special that aired on Fuel TV at midnight today (Feb. 8, 2012) in advance of the UFC 157: "Rousey vs. Carmouche" event set for Feb. 23 in Anaheim, California, featuring an in depth look at both women.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has kicked its promotion for UFC 157: "Rousey vs. Carmouche" into high gear with the first episode of "Primetime" airing at midnight this morning (Feb. 8) on the Fuel TV channel.
And it was a doozy.
That's probably because it featured an in depth look at new Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey, who will be making her debut with the promotion later this month in her first official UFC title defense against challenger Liz Carmouche. In the video above, we get a seriously intense look into the personal lives of both ladies as they tell their stories.
Rousey's story, in particular, is an emotional smorgasbord. If you're not tearing up at least a little bit or you don't want to go give your father a big bear hug by the time this episode ends, you might need to go check your pulse afterwards.
The "Rowdy" one was awarded the UFC Women's Bantamweight Title at the end of the UFC on Fox 5 press conference, but from watching the above video, she doesn't believe she's the true champion until she steps into the Octagon for the first time and defends the belt on the big stage.
As for Liz Carmouche, she's not nearly as prominently featured, but she does go pretty in depth about her homosexuality and how she still holds down a job despite fighting for a UFC title.
Many on twitter are raving that this was the best episode of UFC Primetime ever, but what do you think?
Stay tuned for episode two next week, Maniacs.
