A lightweight clash between Eddie Ng and Arnaud Lepont has been added to the card for ONE FC: 'Kings and Champions' in Singapore on April 5th. The two were originally set to fight in June last year but the Hong Kong fighter injured his shoulder in training and has been out ever since.
His teammate Brian Choi stepped in to replace him and fight Lepont at ONE FC: 'Destiny of Warriors' but the French fighter won with a third round rear naked choke. The fight with Ng will be his third in succession against an Evolve MMA fighter because he lost to Shinya Aoki in the main event of ONE FC: 'Rise of Kings' last October.
Ng's record currently stands at 5-1 with two wins out of two for ONE FC while Lepont is 9-2 overall and 1-1 in his ONE FC fights. The charismatic French fighter went to great lengths to wind up Aoki before their fight in Singapore, even walking into the cage holding a 'Beating Aoki for Dummies' book and we can expect some similar antics this time around.
Another fight on the card will see Yusup Saadulaev go up against Leandro Issa. Both men suffered surprise losses at the last ONE FC event in Singapore when the Russian was stopped in the opening round by Kevin Belingon and the Brazilian lost out to Soo Chul Kim in a rematch.
Issa's record fell to 10-3 with the loss to Kim while Saadulaev dropped to 9-2-1 and both will be looking to get back to winning ways and begin the process of working their way back into title contention. The Brazilian holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while the Russian comes from a very strong Sambo background.
Shinya Aoki vs Kotetsu Boku is set for the main event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on April 5th and ONE FC: 'Kings and Champions' is also likely to feature the semifinals of the Bantamweight Grand Prix meaning that Masakatsu Ueda, Jens Pulver, Kevin Belingon and Thanh Vu will all be in action.
The show will be broadcast live all over Asia on Star Sports and separate deals with various TV companies in countries all over the world including Cambodia, Canada, Russia and France could possibly make this the most watched ONE FC event ever.
