UFC 156 results recap: Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar event wrap up from Las Vegas

USA TODAY Sports

Wrapping up the UFC 156: "Aldo vs. Edgar" event that took place on Sat., Feb. 2, 2013, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, featuring Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar and much, much more.

UFC 156: "Aldo vs. Edgar" blew the roof off the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, this past Sat., Feb. 2, 2013, featuring a main event of Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo taking a hard fought unanimous decision victory over division debutante Frankie Edgar.

Once again, close but no cigar.

The co-headlining attraction saw Rashad Evans lose all hope of a middleweight title shot against Anderson Silva with his bizarre performance against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira resulting in a decision loss.

The other three main card bouts saw Antonio Silva shock the world by knocking out Alistair Overeem, Demian Maia do the same but in a grinding decision win over Jon Fitch, and Joseph Benavidez beating Ian McCall.

In cased you missed any or all of it -- or just want to keep the discussion alive -- below are links to all the major storylines borne from Saturday night's event in "Sin City."
