Son of a Fitch! Jon Fitch is likely feeling a little different this morning after Demian Maia completely dominated him at UFC 156, which took place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Feb. 2, 2013. The American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) stand out has carved a reputation inside the Octagon as a grinder, a relentless force who breaks fight spirits with grueling and frustrating top control. Maia assumed that role last night, blanketing Fitch from the opening bell, taking his back and threatening with submissions for nearly 15 agonizing minutes. Fitch had no answers -- he was completely in a defensive mode the entire fight, unable to mount any type of offense whatsoever because Maia never gave him the opportunity to breath. It was a masterful performance by the Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace even if it wasn't the most aesthetic fight to watch on pay-per-view (PPV). He has now won three straight fights at 170 pounds and has established himself as a serious divisional threat. Who is next? For a more detailed look at Demian Maia vs. Jon Fitch click here.
