In a matter of hours, the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens will take the field at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, today (Sun., Feb. 3, 2013) for Super Bowl XLVII, broadcasting live on CBS at 6:30 p.m. ET.
It's a compelling match-up between the two best and brightest from the NFC and AFC this season. Two brothers coaching against each other, two physical teams with clear identities on both sides of the ball, and about a million other storylines, like the meteoric rise of San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the swan song of Baltimore middle linebacker Ray Lewis.
There is a lot to digest but perhaps even bigger than all that are the odds and betting lines for the game. We're in America, after all, and its two favorite past times are pro football and gambling.
And it doesn't get any bigger than the Super Bowl.
To that end, let's look at the odds and betting line for the game, courtesy of Bovada:
That falls in line with the narrative for weeks now, the 49ers acting as the uncrowned champions with a hot new stud quarterback and the Ravens acting as the perennial underdog who just keep getting the job done despite seemingly superior competition.
The NFC has been clearly better than the AFC this year but you know what they say: Any given Sunday and all that.
There are also a million prop bets you can make, from who will win the coin toss (both teams are at -105 right now) to the first team to score (49ers at -130 while Ravens are EVEN) to what the first score of the game will be (touchdown at -145 while field goal or safety is +115).
Remember, last year's Super Bowl kicked off its scoring with a safety. You never know.
That's what makes it so damn exciting. So if you're willing to lay down some coin on any and all bets surrounding Super Bowl XLVII, you can click here to check out all the odds.
