"Lil Heathen" will welcome Strikeforce import Estevan Payan -- who will make the drop back down to 145 pounds himself after competing twice at 155 pounds for the now extinct mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion -- at UFC 160, which takes place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 25, 2013.
Stephens, who has seen better days, will look to hold on to a coveted spot on the promotion's roster after a bad stretch -- during which he lost 155-pound to Anthony Pettis, Donald Cerrone and Yves Edwards -- as featherweight for the first time in his career.
Payan, meanwhile, is currently riding high, carrying with him a seven-fight win streak with his last loss coming 3.5 years ago. "El Terrible" has made his rounds on the MMA fight scene, competing for Bellator, Strikeforce, Cage Rage and Shark Fights before getting his shot in the big show.
A win over a wily veteran like Stephens keeps him there, while a loss for "Lil Heathen" likely earns him his walking papers.
UFC 160 will feature a heavyweight title fight as Cain Velasquez looks to defend his strap against Antonio Silva, while Alistair Overeem and Junior dos Santos search for a much-needed win at each others' expense when the two hard-hitting big men meet in the co-main event of the evening.
The Memorial Day weekend event will also serve host to an intriguing lightweight showdown between Donald Cerrone and K.J. Noons, while Glover Teixeira makes his Octagon return against Ryan Bader in a light heavyweight showdown.
