Ramon Dekkers highlight video featuring classic Muay Thai and kickboxing battles

"The Diamond" will no longer shine, but his legacy will live on thanks to the power of YouTube.

Famed Dutch kickboxer and eight-time Muay Thai world champion Ramon Dekkers passed away earlier today in the Netherlands after suffering a heart attack at age 43. "The Diamond" had well over 200 recorded fights throughout his career and won his first title at age 18.

First of many.

Dekkers was also instrumental in helping some of the top mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters out of Golden Glory hone their craft, including former Women's Bantamweight Champion Marloes Coenen and former Strikeforce and DREAM heavyweight titleholder Alistair Overeem.

Unfortunately, his relationship with "The Reem" ended on a sour note.

It's also unfortunate that Dekkers competed before the world of combat sports became mainstream (or at least widely televised), as there isn't exactly a treasure trove of available footage. But from what you can see in the above video, he was a bad dude.

Take a look at the highlights and let's get some feedback from our Dekker fans in the comments section below.
