Once again, the elected ignorant have decided to use MMA as the whipping boy of immorality. Steve Hickey, a South Dakota State Legislator has equated our love for MMA equal to that of a perverted predator looking to score kiddie porn. Hickey's exact quote was "MMA cage fighting is the child porn of sports"

A bill in South Dakota has recently been proposed that would create an Athletic Commission. Apparently, Rep Hickey and the SD Governor, believe the very thought of MMA being discussed as a viable sport sanctioned by that athletic commission is absurd and has that bill in gridlock. Hickey went on to question the logic behind legalizing what is otherwise considered a crime, saying "I'm offended that the state would legitimize cage-fighting and the bloody violence that those kinds of spectacles create. I think it's interesting that we declare that it is a crime for one human being to strike another, and yet the state now proceeds to legitimize, and label a sport, cage-fighting"
