Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva is expanding his horizons outside the cage, as the soon-to-be 38-year-old mixed martial arts (MMA) master enters the twilight of his career. The good news is, he's giving back to the fight community in the process.
Welcome to the Anderson Silva Muay Thai College in Torrance, CA.
The grand opening celebration of "The Spider's" state-of-the-art facility (see photos here) also included an award ceremony for his coaches Diogenes Assahida, Josuel Distak, Ramon Lemos and Rogerio Camoes, as well as his training partner Andre Galvao and manager, Ed Soares.
Hey look, there's "Jacare!"
Silva (who speaks pretty good English) is expected to use his new facility for upcoming training camps and will open it to the public in the very near future, though I don't think fellow middleweight Chris Weidman will be allowed to apply for a membership.
