Chael Sonnen, the current No. 1 contender in the UFC light heavyweight division, says he will lick Rashad Evans' shoe tonight on the UFC 157 post-fight show on FUEL TV if his friend Dan Henderson loses to Lyoto Machida in the co-main event.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight No. 1 contender Chael Sonnen is so confident that his good friend and training partner Dan Henderson will defeat Lyoto Machida tonight (Feb. 23, 2013) at UFC 157: "Rousey vs. Carmouche" in Anaheim, Calif., that he is willing to lick a dirty shoe if he is wrong.
Who does that dirty shoe belong to? How about former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans?
Sonnen and Evans both serve as analysts for FUEL TV and when giving predictions for the UFC 157 co-main event on Friday's (Feb. 22, 2013) UFC 157 weigh-in show, Sonnen decided to raise his own personal stakes in the fight by saying he would lick Evans' shoe if Henderson wins because that's how confident he is in the former Pride and Strikeforce champion.
His words:
"First off young lady this is not a prediction when I make it, it' a fact. Rashad hold that shoe up. Now if I get this wrong on the post-fight show I will lick that shoe. Dan Henderson wins. I mean this, mark my words I will lick that boot tomorrow on this show. Dan Henderson in the co-main event."
Evans was a little more eloquent when sharing his prediction on the fight, as he picked the man who took the light heavyweight belt from him back at UFC 98 in May 2009.
"I got to go with ‘The Dragon,' man. You know, Dan Henderson's been out for such a long time and ‘The Dragon' seems to be finding his rhythm, so I got to go with Machida."
Machida is a nearly 3-to-1 betting favorite over Henderson, which means if the odds makers are right the current coach of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 17 winning will be putting lips to leather on tonight's UFC 157 post-fight show on FUEL TV.
