UFC did something very smart....let go of a bunch of talent. Sounds stupid right? Wrong.
The bulk of these 100 fighters that are getting cut will whined up in the WSOF. They're already building solid talent, now you add a bunch of former UFC fighters in the mix.......direct competition with Bellator. NBCSports will be available in over 100 million homes just like Spike, so the stage is set.
Do you think Viacom would stay in the MMA game to long if they have to compete for 2nd place? Compete for 10% of the market share???? A billion dollar company????
This was a genius move by the UFC...they are directly competing with Viacom now without actually competing with them. Showing they can bring down the Billion Dollar backed MMA org with some releases and a good relationship with Ray Sefo......very slick
