Bellator 90 Predictions

via www.themmanews.com

Bellator returns tonight on Spike TV with the Featherweight final between Rad Martinez and Shahbulat Shamhalaev. The winner faces the winner of Daniel Strauss and Pat Curran for a shot at the title.

Also on the card is 'King Mo' Lawal who is taking on Emmanuel Newton, as well as Mikhail Zayats versus Jacob Noe and Douglas Lima versus Bryan Baker.

Rad Martinez vs. Shahbulat Shamhalev

The Russians run comes to an end here. Rad Martinez has got to the finals of this tournament by applying constant pressure on his opponents and wearing them out. Shahbulat's cardio is not where it needs to be and he will crumble under the pressure that Rad will put him on. The only chance I give Shahbulat is in the first round where he is fresh and may be able to land a heavy shot but even then Rad has a great chin. Rad should be able to put a pace on Shahbulat that will exhaust him and ride him out to a decision win.

Rad Martinez via. unanimous decision

Muhammad Lawal vs. Emmanuel Newton

Another mismatch in the favor of 'King Mo'. Lawal has the advantage in literally every aspect of this fight and I expect him to win pretty decisively. Newton hasn't been finished with punches since his pro debut back in 2003 and I don't expect that stat to end here. Lawal will be dominant, but no finish.

'King Mo' via. unanimous decision

Douglas Lima vs. Bryan Baker

I can't see a way for Lima to lose this fight. Lima is too good to lose this fight against Baker. He is faster, stronger, more technical, I guess what I am trying to say is that he is clearly the better fighter here. Baker has a tendency to gets hit lots, and Douglas Lima hits like a truck. I'm not so sure Baker will be able to last a round with Lima but I'll give him the benefit on the doubt.

Douglas Lima via. second round TKO

Mikhail Zayats vs. Jacob Noe

Noe has impressed me while Zayats has not. I'm going on a hunch with this fight as I don't know either guy very well. Noe seems to have some power in his hands while Zayats has been finished with strikes on three occasions.

Jacob Noe via. first round TKO

Quick picks

Ben Saunders via. unanimous decision

Chase Beebe via. unanimous decision
