Just hours away from Saturday's (Feb. 2 2013) UFC 156 event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and No. 1 contender Frankie Edgar shared some final thoughts on their 145-pound championship bout.

Before Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar share the Octagon at UFC 156 just a few short hours from now at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, the two featherweight championship competitors were forced to endure one final formality:

The weigh-ins.

For mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters, the weigh-ins are the last time they will see stand face-to-face (see the staredown pic here) with their opponent before sharing the Octagon. Some fighters are casual when stepping on the scale, others use the moment as one final opportunity to try and intimidate their opponent.

At Thursday's UFC 156 "Ultimate Media Day" the champion talked to MMA Fighting about how Saturday's fight stacks up against the biggest fight fights in his career, his difficulties cutting down to featherweight, a potential move to lightweight and how Edgar will be different at 145-pounds.

On if UFC 156 is the biggest fight of his career:
"I don't feel any difference, I'm used to great fights and the build up and expectations. I see Saturday's fight as just another fight in my life."

On the weight cut to featherweight and a move to lightweight:
"Cutting weight has always been difficult to me, but I'm used to that and at 145 there are always new exciting fighters dropping down or joining the organization and I feel like staying a little bit longer at this weight class."

On if Edgar will be different fighter at featherweight:
"I think he might lose part of his stamina because he's cutting down weight, he's not very used to that. But apart from that I think it will be the same, just his resistance, his stamina to fight."

Just moments after successfully making weight, Edgar appeared on the FUEL TV weigh-in show to share some finals thoughts on possibly becoming the UFC's third ever two-division champion less than 24-hours away from UFC 156.

The challenger spoke on the FUEL TV weigh-in broadcast, telling Ariel Helwani about his first weight cut down to 145-pounds, how he is going to come out victorious and if he needs to finish Aldo after controversial decisions in back-to-back fights with Ben Henderson.

On the weight cut to featherweight:
"It was easy, it's not me making anything up. I feel good, I feel good. I feel better than at '55 it feels more natural, yeah, I'm looking forward to this."

On how he feels compared to lightweight:
"As far as athletically I feel better, you know, you cut five pounds, you cut one pound, it always sucks, but it really wasn't much of a cut to be honest with you. [The cut was] much easier than I thought it was."

On what he has to do to ensure victory:
"I just gotta be myself, you know? I haven't disappointed yet, you know, if I show up and just fight my fight and fight to my ability things will go my way."

On if he needs a finish after two controversial decision:
"That would be great to finish him within the five rounds, but, you know, he's one of the best fighters in the world, I'm absolutely going to be looking for it, but, you know, if it does go the distance I want to make sure when the judges are reading the cards there's no doubt."

Only one more sleep until showtime, Maniacs!
