Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar full fight video preview for UFC 156

Check out a complete video preview of the upcoming featherweight championship super-fight headlining UFC 156 on Sat., Feb. 2, 2013, at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada, pitting Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar.

Although it seemed Anderson Silva vs. Georges St. Pierre or Jon Jones would be the first real "super-fight" we've seen in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) since B.J. Penn moved up to battle St. Pierre back at UFC 94, it turns out the lighter weight classes are giving us what we want.

Later on this evening (Sat., Feb. 2, 2013), at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, Frankie Edgar will finally move down in weight to the 145-pound division in an attempt to wrest the title from the grasp of the man who has been lording over the weight class for years now, Brazilian badass Jose Aldo.

About the match-up, the champ had this to say:

"I'm not concerned with how I continue to be champion. Whether it's by points or by knockout, I just have to go in there and do my job. One of the biggest challenges for Frankie is going to be making the weight. The other big challenge he has to deal with is the sped and technique I have in this weight class. I expect to be champion for many more years. This is the weight where I've found myself. I'm comfortable so I plan on being champion for many, many more years."

Edgar, meanwhile, explains his move to featherweight and why he believes he can swim with the biggest shark in the pool:

"I just felt the timing was right to move to featherweight. Right now, it's a good time for me. It's a new landscape for myself, new opponents, and new possibilities. Power is definitely comparable to the guys at 155-pounds. Gray and Benson... (Jose) doesn't have the mass they have but he has the pop and explosiveness that they don't have. I don't think I'm going to be any weaker or any slower. After making weight, I think I'll come in at pretty much what I weighed fighting at 155. I think my speed will be the same, if not quicker, and strength wise, pound-for-pound I think I'm a pretty strong guy so I'm comfortable there. To beat Jose Aldo is to beat one of the best pound-for-pound guys in our game and the best 145-pound fighter ever. So it would be huge for me, going home knowing I'm the 145-pound champion."

We'll find out if UFC President Dana White was right to poke and prod Edgar until he got him to drop the extra 10 pounds later on tonight in "Sin City" in what should be a fine main event on Super Bowl weekend.
