Renan Barao versus Dominick Cruz
This fight is a given. It's going to happen in summer 2013 barring any delay by Cruz's injury. I can't wait, I just hope Cruz returns as the same fighter he was before the injury.
Cub Swanson versus Ricardo Lamas II
These two guys fought before and Ricardo Lamas defeated Cub via. arm triangle choke. A rematch between the two makes a ton of sense for the division right now, with the winner challenging the victor of Jose Aldo/Anthony Pettis. Both Ricardo Lamas and Cub Swanson have progressed as fighters since their first meeting but Cub more so than Ricardo. Cub has been knocking heads ever since he lost to Ricardo and it would make for an interesting second fight.
Jimi Manuwa versus James Te-Huna
Both men won at UFC on FUEL 7. Both quite unconvincingly, though. Manuwa won by doctor stoppage after Cyrille seemed to have injured his calf and Te-Huna was cracked early but managed to survive and wrestle his way to a win. It was brought up at the post fight presser today by a media member that these two guys could coach the 'TUF Smashes' against one another and Dana loved the idea. Don't be surprised if that's the route the UFC takes with these two.
Gunnar Nelson versus TJ Waldburger
Two submission specialists who have seem to found a striking groove. Both of these men are known more for their ground games but have won their last fights with their striking. It is a very interesting match as Gunnar seems to have outstanding top control and submissions from the top while Waldburger is an ace off his back. Fun fight.
This one would be a striking clinic. Any fight Cisco Rivera is in seems to end by knockout, and I am sure Vaughan Lee would love to get a break from all these grapplers and let his hands go. This one would be a banger.
