Paul Abell-US PRESSWIRE
Was a bum leg to blame for Travis Browne's last defeat? We may find out in his next fight, which has already been booked for April 13 in "Sin City."
It's make or break time for Travis Browne.
After coming up short against one beefy Brazilian, "Hapa" will get his crack at another. This time it's jiu-jitsu ace Gabriel Gonzaga, who looks to make it three in a row since his 2012 return to the Octagon as part of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 finale on April 13, 2013 from "The Joint" at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC President Dana White confirmed the booking earlier today.
Browne (13-1) saw his undefeated streak snapped by Antonio Silva at the UFC on FX 5 event last October. Prior to getting stepped on by "Bigfoot," the Hawaiian hurter had mowed down the likes of Stefan Struve and Chad Griggs and could get back into "the mix" with a big win in "Sin City."
Assuming that leg is 100 percent.
Hoping to play spoiler is Gonzaga (14-6). "Napao" resurrected his ZUFFA career with a UFC 142 submission win over Ednaldo Oliveira. It marked a triumphant return for the former division number one contender after being released in late 2010 and no question a win over a top prospect like Browne would do wonders for his career trajectory.
It's already off and running thanks to this.
No other fights have been announced for TUF 17 finale at this time, however, we do know that two middleweight hopefuls will square off to battle for the "six-figure contract." Stay tuned to MMAmania.com for more upcoming fight announcements for the April 13 card as the develop.
