On March 2, 2013, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Japan for the second consecutive year with UFC on FUEL TV 8: "Silva vs. Stann," arguably the promotions most stacked FUEL TV fight card to date.

Headlining the event is a five-round light heavyweight contest between former Pride champion and legend of the Japanese mixed martial arts (MMA) scene Wanderlei Silva, who takes on former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) champion Brian Stann in his first fight in the country since September 2006.

The supporting cast on the card features the likes of Mark Hunt and Takanori Gomi, who made their name in the sport while competing in Japan, as well as fighters who are more recognized for their work under the UFC banner such as Stefan Struve, Diego Sanchez and Yushin Okami.
