The official weigh in event for UFC 156: "Aldo vs. Edgar" -- the promotion's annual Super Bowl weekend fight card extravaganza -- took place today (Fri., Feb. 1, 2013) LIVE from Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After a few preliminary fighters missed weight, there was initial confusion over the integrity of the scale. As it turned out, though, Dustin Kimura, Francisco Rivera, and Edwin Figueroa all simply came in heavy.

UFC 156 will feature Frankie Edgar's first trip south of 155 pounds when he battles reigning featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo for his 145-pound strap in what is being billed as a super-fight, even if it might not actually be one.

Other exciting match-ups booked for the main card include Rashad Evans vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Alistair Overeem vs. Antonio Silva, and Jon Fitch vs. Demian Maia.
