Ryan Bader's had a rough go of it of late in his mixed martial arts career, having lost two of three, both by knockout, before his light heavyweight bout against Anthony Perosh on the main card of tonight's (Fri., Dec. 6, 2013) UFC Fight Night 33: "Hunt vs. Bigfoot" event in Brisbane, Australia.
That's probably why he came out absolutely laying the wood on "The Hippo".
Indeed, while the Aussie had a few decent moments in the opening frame, the first round was more a less a savage five-minute beating carried out by "Darth," who was fighting like his life depended on it. He opened his opponent up, landed a ton of significant strikes, and generally dominated wherever the fight went.
The second round was slower but just as efficient, as Bader earned himself a takedown and did whatever he wanted while on top. Perosh survived but that's about all he did.
Perosh had no choice but to get over-aggressive in the third and that led him to attack Bader with a blitzing barrage of punches that were all wildly ineffective. In fact, it only led to Bader grabbing a hold of him, dragging him down, and continuing to savagely beat him.
Perosh's only victory here is that he wasn't finished. If you can call that a victory, I guess.
The final scores were 30-27, 30-27, and 30-26.
