Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) on Monday (Dec. 2, 2013) added a third man to the Chris Weidman vs. Anderson Silva middleweight main event, scheduled for the UFC 168 pay-per-view (PPV) on Dec. 28 from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Let's just say it's a familiar face.
Veteran mixed martial arts (MMA) referee Herb Dean -- who was the man to stop the action when "All American" upset "The Spider" back at UFC 162 -- will once again fill the role of referee, according to Sherdog.com, while Junichiro Kamijo, Chris Lee and Patricia Morse-Jarman take over as cageside judges.
Though I doubt this one is going to a decision.
Weidman (10-0) turned the 185-pound division on its head with a sensational second-round knockout over "The Spider" back in July. While Silva (33-5) was initially non-committal about a second go-round, UFC President Dana White was able to talk him into what could be the biggest event of all time.
There's a reason they call it "Anderson Silva money."
