If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
That's a pretty good way to sum up Frankie Edgar's decision to employ the usual suspects when he assumes the role of head coach for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 19, which is currently filming for the FOX Sports 1 network and expected to premiere in April of 2014.
Who's coming along for the ride?
The "Answer" is Mark Henry (not the WWE wrestler -- though that would be hilarious), former UFC welterweight Ricardo Almeida, grappling legend Renzo Gracie and Anderson Franca, as well as some of his teammates, including Marlon Moraes, Edson Barboza and Akira Corassani, who knows a thing or two about TUF franchise.
Bloody Elbow shared the cast of characters on Monday.
On the other side of the bracket, longtime rival, opposing head coach and fellow lightweight-turned-featherweight, B.J. Penn, has revealed his coaching staff, one that includes UFC hall-of-famer Mark Coleman, in addition to André Pederneiras, Jason Parillo and John Hackleman, among others.
Should be interesting.
TUF 19 will feature a mix of light heavyweight and middleweight mixed martial arts (MMA) hopefuls, who will compete in an elimination-style format for a pair of "six-figure" contracts. Edgar and Penn, who have already competed twice before inside the Octagon in the lightweight division, will then do battle for a third time later in the year.
