Weidman vs. Silva 2, Round 2

Silva stayed back to start the second, looking to avoid another takedown. He went with kicks for his initial offense while Weidman looked for an opening.

Weidman vs. Silva 2, Round 1

Silva wasn't playing games early, taking a traditional stance and staying patient on the outside. Weidman, for his part, was also patient, though he didn't seem to be unprepared.

In fact, he shot in for a takedown, and completed it, under one minute into the fight.

The Brazilian got back to his feet in short order, using the fence to stand. Then, insanity. Weidman started landing hard shots, and actually managed to get Silva to the mat laying BIG shots on him.

Somehow, "The Spider" survived the onslaught. He certainly looked like he was about to get finished but he survived and held on for dear life.

And this was only a couple minutes into a planned 25-minute showdown.

Weidman worked from top with huge elbows while Silva continued simply trying to stay in the fight and not get stopped. The round ended with Weidman on top.

On to the second.

Rousey vs. Tate 2, Round 3

Rousey was still an aggressive killer into the third, pushing the pace right from the get go. She put Tate against the fence and they worked a clinch early.

Then, finally, Rousey worked her way down to yet another armbar. That was all she wrote. This time Tate tapped and gave Rousey the victory.

Rousey vs. Tate 2, Round 2

For the first time in her career, Rousey went into the second frame of a professional fight. She looked tired, but not out of it.

Rousey came out firing punches but largely missed. She did earn a trip takedown soon thereafter, but Tate hit kicks from the bottom that looked devastating. They got back up but once again, Rousey hit a big takedown.

That judo is unstoppable.

They slowed down quite a bit into the second by clinching up against the fence and laying punches on each other. Rousey earned another takedown but Tate worked for an armbar. She couldn't get it, though, and Ronda worked for her patented submission.

She couldn't get it the first time but she did get it the second time.

But Tate got out.

Rousey found a neck crank with her legs then and worked a choke with her calves. Still, Tate survived and they would go to a third round.

Rousey vs. Tate 2, Round 1

The two rushed to the center and started wildly exchanging punches. No one got the better of it before a clinch led to a takedown that didn't last long at all. Rousey had Tate pushed up against the fence unloading punches while looking for her chance to get the fight down to the floor.

Then, she separated and threw a front kick.

Wow.

Shortly after, Tate threw a quick that Ronda caught and took her down on. She didn't follow her down, instead throwing blows from the top. Surprisingly, "Cupcake" earned a takedown of her own and ended up in Rousey's guard.

There, "Rowdy" worked for a submission, namely a triangle. She got there, too, but Tate gotout and they went back to standing.

It was there that things got crazy again, both fighters swinging for the fences. Tate landed some big shots, but Rousey took the best of them before scoring another takedown and getting into full mount. She rolled over for the back, then the arm, then Tate reversed on top.

They went back to standing, but there were few punches this time. Instead, Rousey executed a huge judo throw. She couldn't get anything with it, though, and let Tate back up.

This is nuts.

Tate survived and Rousey would go to the second round for the first time in her career.
