As 2013 comes to a close the UFC will put on its last show of the year, and biggest. UFC 168 will feature two highly anticipated Rematches that also happen to be for the world title. Also a match-up of top ten heavyweights. Here are my Picks and predictions for UFC 168.
Going into their first fight I felt that Weidman had a great chance at getting the win but in a completely different way than he did. Weidman has a great wrestling pedigree with a slick submission game to complement that; with this I think Weidman will have the advantage and will be able to make this a grinding win but wont make the same mistake as Chael Sonnen and get caught from the bottom by Silva. This fight is close but look for Weidman to handle the former champ once again.
Weidman 4th Rd. Submission.
These two have been at each others throats for months now and have turned this into quite a rivalry. Going into the first fight the question was will Rousey be able to do what she does best against the best in the world? Since then she has proved again and again that shes the best in the world and can hit that armbar on any woman in the 135 pound divison. This one wont last long.
Rousey 1st Rd. Submission
This fight is the classic Old breed Vs New breed with Barnett and Browne; Out of the gate Barnett is going to try to make this a grinding fight and play to his strengths that is his smothering top game but I just don't see him doing it against Browne. Browne coming off a Knockout of the Year candidate will have all the confidence and momentum going into this fight and will prove to be too much for Barnett. Browne's too athletic For Barnett and i think it'll show as this one goes deep.
Browne Unanimous Decision.
Camoes has had a mixed run in the ufc and currently sits at 1-2-1 and is also coming off a loss to Melvin Guillard. Frankly put I just don't see how he gets it done against the Submission savvy veteran. Expect Miller to take this one to the ground relatively fast and work for the Submission.
Miller 1st Rd. Submission
Since Brandao won TUF 14 he has gone 4-1 in the UFC, a good run for the up an coming Featherweight but he will be facing a totally different level of competition when he meets Poirier. The difference is going to be Poiriers strike output and in fight knowledge.Poirier Unanimous Decision
