UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva is trimming the fat for his upcoming title fight against Chris Weidman, which takes place at UFC 168 this Saturday night (Dec. 28, 2013) at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Too many chiefs, not enough Indians.
"The Spider" is making some major changes to his fight team ahead of this weekend's pay-per-view (PPV) event. Not that his entourage had anything to do with his shocking upset loss at UFC 162, but sometimes you gotta thin the herd.
"I have not talked about it yet. It is the first time I'm commenting on this. This is one of the things that we change. Our team had a lot of people with different thoughts. Although it was not the reason why I lost, from that we analyzed what was good and what was bad, so we decided to change it."
I think it's safe to say that "Feijao" and "Big Nog" will not make the cut list.
Silva (33-5) was knocked out by Weidman over Fourth of July weekend and lost his 185-pound title in the process. While he's still dreaming of the day when he can box Roy Jones Jr., it sounds like Spidey is indeed "back" and making the necessary adjustments in camp.
But will it make a difference?
