The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) is back in 2014 with another season. This 19th rendition will be coached by former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight champions B.J. Penn and Frankie Edgar. Edgar and Penn have a bit of history as "the Answer" holds two wins over "the Prodigy" in championship bouts.
TUF is the proving ground for young fighters who hope to someday make the move from the small pond of the regional mixed martial arts (MMA) scene to the big leagues. The show has produced champions in multiple weight classes as well as built stars that have headlined pay-per-view (PPV) events and cards on Fox.
Because of the nature of the show and the six-figure guaranteed contract, fighters will often try their hardest to impressive UFC President Dana White. They know that it is White who makes the decisions for the biggest MMA promotion in the world and that there is very little room for boring fighters in the Octagon.
During the 17th season of TUF, one fighter's exciting style stood out among the cast of sixteen middleweights. Uriah Hall landed a spinning back kick to the face of Adam Cella that had White claiming to be the sickest knockout in TUF history. That knockout made Hall the most feared man in the TUF house.
Well looks like there may be an even crazier knockout. White spoke with Fox Sports and said that fans won't have to wait long to see the "nastiest f***ing" knockout of the season.
"We had the fights to get into the house yesterday on The Ultimate Fighter, probably the nastiest f-king knockout. It beats Uriah Hall knockout," White said. "Was Uriah Hall not one of the sickest knockouts you've ever seen? This one beats it. Picture how f-king scary this knockout is."
The Ultimate Fighter 19 will air on Fox Sports 1 in early 2014.
