"I'm super excited about it. These girls are all super talented, charismatic, and super cute. The UFC has really recognized the value the women can bring, and is investing in them and thinking long term. I can't wait for a new women's champion and having some of the responsibilities and pressure be taken off of me. I could use a little help."
Fight fans were thrilled when Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) decided to add a strawweight division to its growing roster of women, which was preceded by an announcement that ZUFFA acquired Invicta FC's 115-pound talent. But perhaps no one was as happy as current UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Speaking to "UFC Tonight," Rousey says now that there will be a new flock of "super talented, charismatic and super cute" ladies showing off their skills inside the Octagon, a lot of the pressure that comes with being the face of women's MMA might be take off her once the new Strawweight champion is crowned. And the new UFC talent will have a chance to win the inaugural belt if they manage to win season 20 of The Ultimate Fighter -- the first-ever all women edition of the reality TV show -- which is set to start filming in May 2014. What say you Maniacs, can potential stars such as Felice Herrig, Bec Hyatt, Rose Namajunas and Tecia Torres one day be the new face of women's MMA?
