Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced Tuesday that two more fights are set for its UFC 169: "Cruz vs. Barao" pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on Feb. 1, 2014.
A lightweight contest between two promotional debutants features Tony Martin, who is undefeated at 7-0 in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, will duke it out with the current M-1 Global welterweight champion, Rashid Magomedov. The latter has not fought in over a year.
Martin's most significant victory was over UFC alumn and former highly touted prospect, Phillipe Nover.
The Russian's only career loss was at the hands of current Bellator season eight featherweight tournament winner Magomedrasul Khasbulaev over three years ago.
Also on the card, Neil Magny will try and stop a two-fight losing skid when he welcomes Gasan Umalatov to the Octagon, who is making his first appearance for the promotion -- proving that UFC's stock in Russian fighters is certainly rising.
Magny holds a promotional record of 1-2 inside the Octagon, while Umalatov makes his first appearance ever for UFC after winning eight out of his past nine fights, improving to 14-2-1 in his career.
The fight will be contested in the welterweight division.
UFC 169 will also feature the highly-anticipated return of Dominick Cruz, who will be looking to establish his dominance in the bantamweight division against the current interim champion, Renan Barao.
The co-main event has Jose Aldo defending his featherweight championship against number one contender, Ricardo Lamas. The card also features a juggernaut fight between heavyweights Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem, along with Chris Cariaso taking on Kyoji Horiguchi in the flyweight division.
