Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) officials recently announced two new scraps for the promotion's return to Europe.
UFC Fight Night 37, which takes place on March 8, 2014 at the O2 Arena in London, England, now includes middleweight action featuring Luke Barnatt vs. Mats Nilsson along with Bradley Scott against the debuting Claudio Henrique Da Silva.
Barnatt is undefeated in his professional career and 2-0 in UFC. He made his first appearance inside the Octagon at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 Finale where he earned a unanimous decision victory over Collin Hart. His most recent outing came against Andrew Craig at UFC Fight Night 30, which ended in a submission victory for the 25-year-old, worthy of earning "Fight of the Night" honors.
The man he will fight is Mats Nilsson, who has been competing under the UK-based Cage Warriors banner and will be making his UFC debut in March. The 30-year-old has won seven of his last eight bouts, the only defeat coming by way of fellow Swede Tor Troeng.
The first moving part in the second bout is Brad Scott. Currently 1-1 in UFC, "Bear" picked up his first ZUFFA win earlier this year at UFC Fight Night 30 against Michael Kuiper. That got the TUF: "Smashes" veteran a "W" after losing to Australia’s Robert Whittaker in that show’s finale at UFC on FX 6 a year ago.
Da Silva is unbeaten in his last nine fights, with the only defeat of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career coming in his debut back in 2007. He is known for a talented grappling game, having compiled six submission victories to date.
"Mineiro" will also be making his UFC debut.
