"My hats off to DJ, the guy is ever-improving. I mean that's one thing you can never take away from him. He is champ for a reason and he is ever-improving. Of course, I'm going to pick holes in everything he does because I'd like another chance to beat him. He's a great champion and he's shutting up the critics. He's making us 125'ers look good. He submitted Moraga, it took him five rounds, but he still did it. With a basic arm bar. Regardless, that's just me being a cynic. He caught Joe with a perfect punch man. He was timing well, it was definitely impressive. People ask me if that scares me now that he's knocking people out and submitting them. I say no, it's more fun and more dangerous. He's going to come in with confidence thinking he can do that too me and obviously I'm going to reverse that roll."
-- Demetrious Johnson continued his dominant ways as flyweight champion when he defended his 125-pound title for the third straight time this past weekend (Dec. 14, 2013) at UFC on FOX 9, knocking out Joseph Benavidez at The Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California (video here). And one person who was not an interested observer, seeing as how he was taking a nap, was Ian McCall. Upon being woken up from his sleep, "Uncle Creepy" noticed that "Mighty Mouse" knocked out "Joe-Jitsu" in the very first round. But if you think McCall fears the KO power that Johnson displayed, you're sadly mistaken, If anything, Ian says the fact that Demetrious has added new tools to his skill set only makes it "fun," especially if the two find themselves locked inside the cage once again. In their first encounter, the two fought to a draw at UFC on FX 2 back in 2012. Three months later, Johnson defeated Ian via decision at UFC on FX 3. But according to McCall, Johnson has what's his and he's determined to get sweet revenge, this time in a five-round title fight. First, "Uncle Creepy" must get past Brad Pickett at UFC Fight Night 37 on March 8, 2014 if he wants another crack at "Mighty Mouse." But will the results be different this time around should he get the chance to fight him again?
