Our Combined MMA Christmas List (2013)

Merry Christmas Maniacs!

As it is certainly the appropriate time of year to put together a wish-list that most likely will not be adequately fulfilled by your mystical being of choice, let's take a moment to celebrate this time together, reflecting about what could have been in 2013, had our wishes previously been met by a red-cloaked pot-bellied MMA-genie.

These festivities are open to all Maniacs regardless of spiritual affiliation or lack thereof, as this certainly is in alignment with the 'airing of grievances' from festivus or the receiving of gifts from countless other traditions.

So sit back, sip some full-strength egg nog, and lace up your ass-kicking boots, it's time to set the record straight:

What's on your MMA Christmas List that should go into effect after 12/25/2013?

Let the reindeer games begin, to kick things off, here's what's on my list:

3) At least four new UFC Champions: at LHW, MW*, WW (this will happen definitively), and LW

*Especially Anderson Silva regaining the MW title, Weidman you're legit, but a dominant Silva is one of my favorite MMA things

2) Another solid MMA organization

I find myself wanting WSOF, RFA, or Bellator to be a little higher quality, though I am satisfied with WSOF and RFA filling in roles as UFC proving grounds / D-leagues

-AND- most importantly:

1) Changes to judging and/or the unified rules of MMA (in order to make the results of close matches sit better with the MMA community)

Perhaps consider:

a) A sudden death round for draws and/or split decisions

(see: Dan Henderson [early-mid 2013], Henderson/Melendez, GSP/Hendricks)?

b) Rolling scores submitted by the judges at the end of each round (the score is known period to period in many other sports...)?

c) More objective 10-8 scoring guidelines?

Let's hear it Maniacs, what do you want for 2014?
