Demetrious Johnson needed five rounds to defeat Joseph Benavidez the first time the two met for the flyweight title at UFC 152 last year. And that was by split decision! In the second meeting, which took place tonight (Sat., Dec. 14, 2013) as the headlining attraction of the UFC on Fox 9 event at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California, "Mighty Mouse" used one really hard punch to flatten "Joe-B", knocking him out cold with one really hard shot. It was really hard. Like, really hard. There were follow up punches but all were unnecessary and came to a stop once referee John McCarthy finally reached the two combatants. This makes the third title defense for Johnson, two of which were finishes. There may have been a debate before as to the merits of the 125-pound division, but I think we can all agree it's nice to have it around now, right?
