The co-headlining attraction at tonight's (Sat., Dec. 14, 2013) UFC on Fox 9: "Johnson vs. Benavidez 2" event at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California, features Urijah Faber taking on Michael McDonald in a battle of two top contenders in the bantamweight (135-pounds) division.
McDonald thinks his youth gives him the edge:
"I've had 27 fights and I'm only 22-years-old. Urijah's coming up on like 35-years-old or something like that. His experience and his age, is it going to hold up against me that's rising through the ranks. You have to step in a cage thinking you're the best in the world."
Faber may be getting long in the tooth but he's still incredibly driven to win UFC gold before he leaves the fight game for good:
"My goal is to get in there and get that belt. That's the goal, to be the best man in the world. I've been so close. It's my destiny. He's a guy who likes to push the pace and I'm not the guy you push the pace against. I don't like to get beat up and I'm not going to let him beat me up. It's going to be ugly. When somebody's here threatening me and going to do damage, it's not going to be good."
