It's all fun and games until someone gets a cap in their ass.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight attraction Chael Sonnen has made his share of enemies over the years, most of them Brazilian. That's because the former middleweight number contender has gone to war with Anderson Silva on two separate occasions.
And Wanderlei Silva -- along with the Nogueira brothers -- have been collateral damage.
That means "The American Gangster" can expect his share of boos when he assumes the role of head coach for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Brazil 3" opposite "The Axe Murderer" (details), which begins filming just after the new year.
And perhaps a bit more than that (via Fighters Only):
"I think it is possible. I was more concerned with the possibility of lynching, maybe knife attack. But yeah I think [getting shot] is possible. But because I am a gangster, I don't live with fear. I do whatever I want, wherever I want... I would like to go to the beach. [Dana White] suggested very sophisticated [security] measures, more than I could have suggested."
Sonnen is no stranger to "attacks" in Brazil.
During a UFC 148 media press tour in Rio de Janeiro, the self-proclaimed "bad guy" was zapped with a shock pen after escaping a scrum populated by "aggressive" reporters, in what was later described as a prank. Turns out, no one was fooled by his disguise (pic).
But before he can worry about Brazilian thugs, Sonnen must first get past Rashad Evans in the co-main event of the UFC 167 pay-per-view (PPV), which takes place a week from Saturday night (Nov. 16, 2013) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Anyone want to take a stab at picking the winner?
