It says something about this season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), number 18 in the series, that the only men's bout that made tonight's (Sat., Nov. 30, 2013) Finale at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, was the bantamweight tournament final pitting Chris Holdsworth vs. David Grant.
And it was a good one.
Holdsworth came out firing, landing hard punches against the fence and very nearly sending Grant crashing to the mat. Holdsworth got back in it late by grappling and working a takedown.
It was even through one.
In the second, Holdsworth took over by taking Grant's back and locking in the body triangle. Not long after, he got his arms under the chin and it took just a few more seconds for him to complete the rear-naked choke.
And just like that, Chris Holdsworth of Team Miesha Tate is the next Ultimate Fighter.
