Now as human beings we're no stranger to a good old fashioned Parker, whether it's the finely crafted Parker Pen you sign your Country Club Membership Form with or the local valet who makes sure your car's placed in just the right spot- we all love a good Parker, yes we do. And no Parker has been quite as quintessential to the development of mixed martial arts than the man-HIMself, Parker Porter.
Best known for his loss to Jon Jones, in a fight in which Porter was a lamb to the slaughter, Parker has been making waves on the MMA scene for a solid 6 years now- now let's be honest with each other here, you and me sonny boy, Parker "Lock Up Ya Daughter" Porter may have a few losses on his record, but can we really hold any against him? Other than losing to the UFC light heavyweight champion, Porter's losses have been to UFC veteran Gabriel Gonzaga and local hard men Gabriel Salinas-Jones and Josh Diekmann, now I think you'll agree, there's no shame in those!
Despite these shortcomings, Porter always manages to pick himself back up and launch himself back into the win column, and with solid wins over tough opposition such as Lee "God Save The Queen" Beane and Mike Dexter, I think it's clear to see this big fella is UFC worthy.
He may have only had 9 professional fights, but Parker's biggest fight has been the fight to be recognized. A true unsung hero of MMA if I ever did see a true unsung hero of MMA.
