Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will play host to at least six events in Europe in 2014, according to CEO Lorenzo Fertitta.

Promotion president Dana White and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta took to BT Sport's UFC: Beyond the Octagon show to break some news to the European faithful:

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be doing a regular circuit of Europe, starting in London, England, with the plan to do a total of six live events throughout the continent next year.

Said Fertitta:

"It's going to be a significant event and we're really excited that we're going to be here on a consistent basis. We are going to find some incredibly talented fighters from various countries in this market that someday will probably be a UFC champion."

MMA Fighting also noted that Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Garry Cook, told the Leaders Sports Summit in London on Wednesday (Oct. 9) that UFC's London event will take place on the first weekend in March of 2014.

The current plan is to hold six events in Europe next year with Istanbul (Turkey), Dublin (Ireland), Lodz (Poland), Glasgow (Scotland) and Berlin (Germany) also being considered.

It is interesting to note that none of the Scandinavian countries are on the tour, despite the recent electric performance of Swedish star Alexander Gustafsson against Jon Jones just last month at UFC 165. Also, none of the countries in southern Europe (Spain, France, Italy, Greece, etc.) are on this list.
