MMAmania FFB A League Week 5 Recap

Five weeks down, and 8 more to go in the FFB regular season. Let's get down to business.

Top 6 Fantasy Players of the Week

1. Tony Romo - Deuce - 49.57 - This game was fucking nuts. Instant Classic.

2. Peyton Manning - Joben - 43.00 - I think Peyton has been on this short list every week.

3. Alshon Jeffrey - Joben - 40.80 - This kid is starting to come into his own. Who'd have thunk he'd outscore Marshall.

4. Julius Thomas - Shiv - 33.20 - Did you watch the Broncos vs Cowboys? Incredible game.

5. TY Hilton - John G - 31.00 - JohnG??? With a player on this list???

6. Dez Bryant - ViolentMike - 30.10 - Holy shit. If you missed this game, you missed a doozy.

6. Pierre Thomas - GriffinFan - 30.10 - Darren Sproles who?

Week 5 Matchups

Deuce: 167.67

ViolentMike: 160.63

Deuce02 picked up their third win in a row when they edged ViolentMike 167.67 - 160.63. The top 2 players from each team were involved in the Broncos vs Cowboys game. Romo and Witten for Deuce. Dez and Knowshon for ViolentMike ViolentMike just couldn't overcome the monster game from Tony Romo, who got the second-highest score on the season. The streak, which has been a real boost for Deuce02, has allowed them to move up from ninth place in Week 3 to third place now. ViolentMike goes to 3-2 and climbs to fifth place. Crazy how you can lose yet climb the standings.

GriffinFan: 146.07

BJPennfan: 95.63

GriffinFan05 clobbered BJPennfan until he quit on the stool, 146.07 - 95.63 while also putting up the highest score they've earned all season. These two teams are tied for ninth place with 2-3 records, but BJPennfan has a clear lead in points, 655.33 - 569.65. BJPennfan is on a three-game losing streak. Adding insult to injury, BJPennfan had a starter, Zach Miller, lay a goose egg.

Shiv: 168.40

donkeypunch: 127.47

Shiv puts the big kibosh on donkeypunch 168.40 - 127.47, putting up the second-highest point total this week. Shiv came into the Sunday games already in front 4.00 - 3.90 after monster games from Stevie Johnson and the Bills Defense on Thursday night (FART). .donkey had one standout player, Shady McCoy (21.20), and he currently has him on the trading block for some reason. I guess he doesn't like studs... Also of mention, Houston D laid a goose egg for donkey as well. As for Shiv, he was lead by Julius Thomas and Terrence Williams, both of whom played in, yup you guessed it, the Broncos vs Cowboys game.

Joben: 176.50

Kevin: 125.83

Joben picked up his third win in a row when he defeated Kevin 176.50 - 125.83, recording the highest point total this week. Since the streak started in Week 3, Joben has moved from sixth place to take over first. He also has the highest scoring output in the league at 162.32 points per matchup (sure must be nice owning Peyton Manning...). Mania's Pete Rose goes to 3-2 and slides to fourth place. If this year is anything like years past, this is just the beginning and Kevin will continue to fall. But I'm sure all his big money league teams are undefeated.

JohnG: 149.83

Buster Bluth: 97.27

When you score less than 100 points, either you or your team really sucks. John G put up the highest score they've earned all season, demolishing Buster Bluth 149.83 - 97.27. John G came into the matchup as the underdog , with a projected spread of 31.58. Buster Bluth has failed to meet expectations for three consecutive weeks, managing only 72.1% of their projected points in this matchup. Looks like yahoo better start adjusting their shitty ass preseason projections that said Buster drafted the best team... Buster Bluth (3-2, 665.60 points) drops to sixth place and John G (1-4, 560.03 points) remains mired in the cellar and risks losing his spot in the A League.

Puck Head: 143.30

TripPilch: 116.00

DeSean Jackson recorded 26.20 points and Jacquizz Rodgers scored 21.80 as Puck Head got past TripPilch, 143.30 - 116.00. Puck Head is now coming out on top with regularity after winning their fourth straight.. Puck Head (4-1, 749.71 points) climbs into second place and TripPilch (1-4, 656.30 points) sinks into 11th place.
