The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) continues to fill out UFC 168 to make it the best card top to bottom in promotion history. The card is headlined by Chris Weidman looking to prove that his first win over Anderson Silva wasn't a fluke, as he puts his UFC Middleweight title on the line.
In the co-main event, Ronda Rousey meets her rival, Miesha Tate, with the UFC's Women's Bantamweight title up for grabs. Rousey and Tate are currently bringing their rivalry to Fox Sports 1 every week on the Ultimate Fighter (TUF) for the series's 18th season.
The UFC announced today that heavyweights Shane Del Rosario and Guto Inocente will be featured on the end of year card. Inocente, a member of the Blackzilians, has spent much of his career fighting at light heavyweight. He is moving up in weight to fight Del Rosario.
Inocente is currently on a four-fight winning streak, having fought last at Strikeforce: Barnett vs Cormier. He's primarily a stand up fighter, and training with Tyrone Spong and Henri Hooft has really improved his stand up.
His opponent, Del Rosario, was once considered one of the top heavyweight prospects in the sport. He is a very strong kickboxer and has the grappling skills to match, should the fight hit the ground. Del Rosario is currently on a two fight losing streak, so he's finding himself in a "must win" situation.
Expect this bout to play out mostly on the feet. While Inocente isn't a ground fighter, he's training with a very strong camp that will have him prepared to prevent the fight form hitting the ground.
UFC 168 takes place on Dec. 28, 2013 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
