I know what you're thinking: What does the new Metallica Through The Never movie have to do with mixed martial arts (MMA)? Well, let me answer your question with one of my own.
Who gives a shit?
This is Metallica we're talking about. And any time we have a discussion about the best songs a fighter can walk out to before competing in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) or Bellator MMA, among other regional and international fight promotions, Metallica is always at or near the top of the list.
Not surprising, considering they've been redefining the music industry for over 20 years.
That's one of the reasons they are now playing in IMAX 3D, as well as regular theaters around the world, for Metallica Through the Never, a "groundbreaking music-driven 3-D motion picture that combines a spectacular never-before-seen live-performance by Metallica created exclusively for the film and a suspenseful narrative to produce a bracing, raw and visceral cinematic experience."
From the official website:
Emerging young star Dane DeHaan (A Place Beyond the Pines, Kill Your Darlings, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 & 3) portrays Trip, a young roadie sent on an urgent mission that turns into a surreal adventure, while Metallica performs its most iconic songs during a roaring live set in front of a sold-out arena. Metallica Through the Never features the most elaborate live-performance stage ever built and was filmed with state-of-the-art 3-D photography captured using up to 24 cameras simultaneously.

Now, about that poster...
If you want to win a signed poster from Metallica, then I need you to prove you're smarter than Nostradumbass when it comes to predicting fights. Not only that, you need to be smarter than everyone else, too, as determining the outcome in tonight's (Oct. 4, 2013) Bellator MMA main event on Spike TV (preview it here) is what gets you the goods.
Here's how to get it done.
STEP ONE: Become a FAN at the official MMAmania.com Facebook page by clicking here AND follow us on Twitter (@MMAmania) by clicking here (if you don't already). Then head over to the @MetallicaMovie Twitter account (here) and do likewise.
STEP TWO: Provide your fight prediction for the Cheick Kongo vs. Mark Godbeer main event at Bellator 102 (ex. Kongo defeats Godbeer via technical knockout in Round 2 at 1:39; or Godbeer defeats Kongo via submission in Round 3 at 2:31).
So it's winner, round, method and time. One entry per reader ... so make it count! If you pick a decision, be sure to include the official time, as well as guess the potential scores for each round (10-9, 10-9, 8-10, etc.)
And, to be on the safe side, all entries that pick a decision win must include a tie-breaker pick from the Lavar Johnson vs. Vinicius Queiroz co-main event. Same criteria as above. You do not need to pick a tie-breaker if you predict a KO/TKO or submission in the main event, only for a decision.
That's it. Easy, right?
Heck, I'll even throw in few prizes for second and third place, because that's just how we do things around these parts. Be sure to get your picks in as soon as possible as the contest ends TONIGHT at 10 p.m. ET. One submission per Maniac; therefore, make it count.
Remember too, that MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the entire Bellator 102 card this evening, starting with the "Prelims," which are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET online, and then main card action, which is slated to begin at 9 p.m. ET on Spike TV.
