Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was live and on the scene for today's (Oct. 4, 2013) UFC on FOX 9 pre-fight press conference, which was free and open to the public for the sole purpose of getting the mixed martial arts (MMA) community amped for the network's year-end fight card, set to go down on Dec. 14 inside the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California.
UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis joined division number one contender Josh Thomson on the dais, alongside co-headliners Urijah Faber and Michael McDonald. Both bantamweights are in the hunt for the 135-pound title and must get through one another to keep their dreams alive.
Two men enter, one man leaves.
Joining his Alpha Male teammate is top featherweight contender Chad Mendes, who continues to keep himself busy with an intriguing 145-pound match-up against the venerable Nik Lentz. That doesn't take into consideration the insane slugfest that awaits the welterweight battle between Matt Brown and former 170-pound interim champ Carlos Condit.
That's one helluva line-up.
