Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight number one contender Johny Hendricks has renewed his vows with sneaker and apparel giant Reebok, just in time for his upcoming title fight against Georges St. Pierre in the main event of UFC 167.
"Bigg Rigg" is also sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Alienware, San Nutrition and Virtustream, among others, and will try to make history on Nov. 16, 2013 live on pay-per-view (PPV) for the promotion's 20th anniversary show from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
From KO Reps President Oren Hodak:
"I am very excited to extend our relationship with Reebok. After our meetings at the Reebok corporate headquarters in Boston, I was confident that a long term deal was soon to follow. We look forward to providing Reebok with an incredible amount of exposure just as we have done with so many other great sponsors."
Hendricks joins his fellow mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters in the big-name sponsorship biz. Nike has recently inked light heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, as well as former heavyweight kingpin Junior dos Santos and ex-middleweight titleholder Anderson Silva.
Bellator star Quinton Jackson also competes under the Reebok brand (see his sneaker here).
