Top Rank Boxing and HBO held weigh ins this afternoon at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada for tomorrow nights (Oct. 12, 2013) pay-per-view bout between Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez for Bradley's World Boxing Organization (WBO) Welterweight title.
Both fighters hit the scales and came in on weight, which makes the bout official for the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Marquez looked shredded at 144.5 pounds while Bradley was incredibly lean at 146 pounds.
There was no bad blood or drama at today's (Oct. 11, 2013) festivities, with the fighters talking about how this bout is a legacy fight. For Bradley, adding Marquez' scalp means he'd hold wins over Manny Pacquiao and Marquez, two of the best pugilists of this era.
For Marquez, winning the WBO Welterweight belt would cement him as one of the best, if not THE best, Mexican boxer of all time. He's held major titles in four weight classes and adding a fifth would means he's in the discussion for one of the best lighter weight boxers of all time.
MMA Mania will be providing round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage for 'Marquez vs. Bradley' tomorrow night on pay-per-view.
