Joe Camporeale-US PRESSWIRE
The stakes have never been higher for two middleweights with dreams of one day becoming champion. Who has the most to lose at the UFC 159 pay-per-view in New Jersey?
Sorry, "Costas," but Michael Bisping already has plans.
Despite falling short in his recent bid to get a coveted middleweight title shot, "The Count" isn't going away just yet. In fact, he's already booked to throw hands opposite Alan Belcher at the upcoming UFC 159: "Jones vs. Sonnen" pay-per-view (PPV) event on April 27, 2013 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
ESPN brought word of the pending match-up earlier today.
Bisping (23-5) was handily defeated by Vitor Belfort at the UFC on FX 7 event earlier this month in Brazil (see it here), dropping him to 1-2 over his last three bouts. Likewise, Belcher (18-7) saw the 185-pound title picture fade away when he was upended by the venerable Yushin Okami last month in Las Vegas.
A win and you stay alive. A loss and well, let's just say it won't be pretty.
UFC 159 will feature a light heavyweight title fight pitting champion Jon Jones against challenger and fellow TUF coach Chael Sonnen. Bitter 205-pound rivals Phil Davis and Vinny Magalhaes have also been scheduled to hook 'em up in "Dirty Jersey."
