"Countdown" to UFC 156: "Aldo vs. Edgar" debuted last night (Tues., Jan. 29, 2013) on FUEL TV to promote the upcoming pay-per-view (PPV) event scheduled for this Saturday night (Feb. 2, 2013) at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The one-hour network special gave mixed martial arts (MMA) fans a glimpse into the preparation and training camps of the combatants set to headline the "super" fight on Super Bowl weekend, reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo and former Lightweight titleholder Frankie Edgar.

In addition to the Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar super showdown, "Countdown" to UFC 156 showcased the 205-pound top contender bout between Rashad Evans vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, as well as the monstrous Heavyweight scrap between Alistair Overeem vs. Antonio Silva, which could earn "Demolition Man" the next crack at division champion Cain Velasquez if he can stomp "Bigfoot."

The pivotal Welterweight match between Jon Fitch vs. Demian Maia, which was framed as Submission Defense vs. Submission Wizard, was also featured on the show.
